Roles and Responsibility

The Culinary Arts instructor is responsible for: preparing students for careers in the hospitality industry, providing technical instruction relevant to the actual work environment using the prescribed course curriculum.

Develop, evaluate, and revise programs, courses, and objectives to ensure instructional and programmatic responsiveness to the occupational and academic needs of students and to ensure instructional quality is maintained.
Use current technology to enhance institutional effectiveness. including but not limited to computers, computer-assisted instruction programs, and audio visual equipment and in addition be willing to learn and apply any other new technology necessary to enhance learning
Educate students on the importance of a risk analysis and critical points system (HACCP) and ensure the cleanliness and safety of the place before training prepared
Choose recipes that demonstrate key nutrition, food budgeting, and food preparation lessons each week.
Ability to generate demand and sales of cooking equipment
Identifying potential customers and market for the company’s equipment brands
Assign participants kitchen tasks that allow each individual to gain hands-on practice and improve their cooking skills.
To make sure supervision of trainees at all times in terms of morality and commitment uniforms And Physical Appearance and occupational health and safety in accordance with the regulations and laws governing center
Ability to generate potential business ideas and develop them into bottom lines
Comfortable speaking in front of groups (average class size is 20 participants).
Must have the ability to manage people and effectively coordinate day to day activities
Attending staff meeting, workshops/ seminars and other scheduled activities as directed by the HOD
Qualification and Education Requirements

The Culinary Arts Instructor must possess a minimum of HND degree from a reputable higher institution.  Bachelor’s degree is preferred. The instructor must have five (3+) years of work experience in the area of culinary arts, nutrition. dietetics. and/or home economics including field experience. You must possess extensive knowledge in the areas of food science, nutrition. Sanitation /safety, basic food preparation. Professional cooking and meal service, international cuisine and the management of food production and service in the hospitality industry.
